56th Daytona 500

What a race this year’s Daytona 500 was! Despite being rained out for six hours, my dad and I really enjoyed the racing when they got back to it. Though I would have loved to see Denny Hamlin sweep Speedweeks, I’m glad to see Dale Jr. win again.

Daytona is my absolute favorite track. From the history to the location to the racing itself, I’ve never had a bad time. I can’t get enough of restrictor plate racing, so Daytona and Talladega are my two favorites. They’re just so much more compelling to me than an intermediate where the racing gets so spread out you can’t tell who’s leading (I’m looking at you, Pocono).

Here are some of my favorite pictures of the weekend. I’ve got to say, I’m super proud of my Earnhardt photo. Loved that man.

Check out this article I did for the Savannah Art Informer! It originally appeared in the Inkwell and is a guest post for SAI. These are two great publications I’m involved with, and I’m glad to write for both of them.
